How I Got Started

I have enjoyed caring for animals my entire life.  Now that I am in college, I am starting to pursue my dream job - spending each and everyday working with animals.

I adopted my first dog in 2010 from Helping Hounds in DeWitt, New York.  He is a boxer/pit mix, and his name is Aussie.  Throughout the time I have had him, I have helped him become a healthier, happier dog.  We grew to know each other as I nursed him through many weeks of medical issues.  Then the day came that I could watch him show off in obedience and agility training.  Now when I look at him, I can't help but smile.  He is one happy dog!  We're very lucky to have one another.

Rescuing a dog or any other pet is very rewarding.  Some day I would like to have a pet shelter of my own and be able to rescue other pets from high-kill shelters. There are many beautiful loving animals out there waiting for their forever home.

During my time spent volunteering and fostering I learned that there was a need for pet care. Now, as a pet sitter, my goal is to make owning a pet more relaxing and easier.  Vacations, activities, and events come up.  Pet owners deserve to know that their pets are in good hands while they are away.
